So we have with us in the studio today, nine other than the great Prophet... The man who called down fire from the sky... It is none other than *ELIJAH THE TISHBITE!*
ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»ππ»
π€π€: Welcome back to *WIZE TALKS* sir...
π§π½♂️π₯: I do not want this laudations Sir, I told you the other day that I am just Elijah, the servant of the God of Israel. Do not make me sin against my God... I am nothing but a vessel He chose to show forth His glory and nothing moreπ€·πΌ♂️π€·πΌ♂️.
Having said that, I'm glad to be here once again, Thank you.
π€π€: My apologies sir, I let my excitement get the better of me, please forgive meππ»ππ».
π§π½♂️π₯: It's alright sir, as long as you do not repeat it.
π€π€: Okay sir, we never heard anything about you till you showed up to declare the years of draught. What were doing before then, and why did you come out then?
π§π½♂️π₯: well my dear, the last time I was here, I told you if how I declined the call of the Lord God of Israel for years, even though I had been lounging for it before then... A time came, I just was cornered, nowhere to run and nowhere to hide. I just had to answer the call.
But God was not going to use me like thatπ€·πΌ♂️ He had to school me. I was a soldier, conscripted into war. But I needed to find Love for my country. I needed to be transformed into a willing general. There was so much to learn. So God called and I followed His voice to an isolated cabin somewhere in the wilderness. There I learnt how His voice sounds, there I could focus, hear Him. There I searched the scrolls, read the law and the testimonies, read of people like Moses, Joshua, Aaron, Gideon and Jephtah. He came down in the cool of the evening and explained them to me. Even gave me the privilege to meet some of themππ. Gradually but surely, I learnt to Love Him, trust Him unwaveringly.
π§π½♂️π₯: One evening, He came as usual and He was furious.... The wind was angry, the birds hid their faces and ran for cover... The trees were shaken to their roots and then fire fell from the sky and formed a pillar, I was scared, I fell on my face and I begged for His mercy, I begged for His leniency. The voice came from the pillar or from the sky I can't really say... And this was not the same still small voice I had come to know... It was furious, a loud roar!!
He told of Ahab and his crimes, and then came the command. *"It's time I paid that clay a visit!!! Go and speak to Him"*
That was it... He didn't tell me what to say, He just said, *_go and speak to him_*
Well I picked my staff, and set out to Israel. It was the most disgusting two days travel of my life. At every turn, there was a sacrifice, an altar of some kind to a deity or a godπ‘π‘ the closer I got to the palace, the more angry I was.
When I got to the gates of the palace, I still didn't know what to say to the king, but I was already furious and outraged in my spirit. As I step in, the stench of sacrifice and sin, was first to greet me, then the sound of their loud celebrations in honor of their god who has given them rain. Then I entered the court, and the music stopped, I went straight to the king and Queen who were soaked in blood... They were drinking blood of the goats they sacrificed to Baal, while their subjects drank wine and whored right there at the palace. *This was the last straw*, this was the height of it. Then I opened my mouth to speak and the Lord filled it... *"until I say so, there shall be no rain or dew on these lands"* I turned and left, as quickly as I arrived, I left too. They couldn't stop me, they wouldn't dare.
It was then I realized why I was schooled. Things like these requires more than just a willingness to do it or a feeling of obligation. It required a strong sense of belonging and Love undaunting. Let me ask you... If someone mocks or disrespects your Mum in your presence, will you defend her out of a feeling of obligation? I think not... You defend her because you love her, you feel a sense of belonging to her... One that cannot be explained readily.
That's how it should be with God too...
When you go into the closet to get to know God, reading his scraps and learning about Him, you develop Love for Him that cannot be easily brought down.... Moses had 40years, Joshua too... Don't be in a hurry... Wait in the closet first and learn to truly love your God and King. When you are ready to graduate, He will come to with your assignmentπ
π€π€: Wow! That was an intense session guys won't you agree? Well yes and we have come to the end of today's episode, till next week, same time same station, I remain your host Wizeking_da_poet.
Remember, *"Wait in the closet and learn till it's time to graduate."*
Goodnight folks.ππ»♂️ππ»♂️ππ₯°πΉ
