MEET THE MAN BEHIND THE SCREEN

 

The world today is sometimes scary to even dare to step out into. Do you agree with me? Well of course you do, you can verify that too right?

It is a “frowned at” act for you to step into my house without doing two things which are:

 

Knocking at the door: Telling me who you are

And

Knowing who owns the house: Do you know me?

 

Although you have defaulted on both counts since you have been reading stuff on this page. But, I like you so much, therefore I am not going to send you away rather I will answer that question nagging at the back of your spine.

 

WHO IS WIZEKING?

Hmm… you sure say I even know like this?

 

Okay… First and foremost, Wizeking is me. Although that is a really cool name, I do have an actual name. My name is Ikwor Uchenna Sunday. Oh yes that’s correct, I am an Igbo man. I am the second son of Late Mr. Donatus O. Ikwor (don’t worry you’d get to know more about him someday) and his loving wife (still living o) Mrs. Felicia Ikwor.

I have two siblings that I would probably introduce you to or introduce you to someday (man… English is sometimes confusing sha…)

 

Now to answer the question “Who is Wizeking”, Let’s take a little trip to my diary shall we?

 

Wizeking is a pseudonym I picked up in SS 1 (or was it JSS3?) when 2go was the king of the social media. I adopted the username Wizeking 17 (I was 17 at the time).

 

I am a graduate of English and literary studies from the prestigious Ambrose Alli University (My guy my guy, AAU no be beans o… who no go no go know!)

I am a poet and a writer and damn… I know I’m good (lol).

Well, you do know that many poets and writers write sometimes under different pseudonyms right? Like George Orwell, Hasely Hayford and some others.

Well I am no different than those great minds. Don’t get me wrong though, I’m not hiding behind the name per say as some writers do, I just want to distinguish my writers persona from my everyday life.

Why is that? Because I have been said to have a very pro-active imagination and I sometimes lose myself in my imagination, so having a separate identity for the literary space of poetry, is like having a priest’s robe which the priests wear when they go to minister and also take off after the ministration. (you sha won’t expect a Priest to officiate between his wife’s legs with the Priestly uniform now, would you?)

 

Some of the amazing pieces of poetry that I have written over the years are on this blog, so please browse through. But fair warning, some of these poems were written when I knew little about poetry, so please be kind in your comment (Abeg…)

I will tell you more about DA_POET as time goes on, I promise.

 

 

OTHER AMAZING THINGS ABOUT WIZEKING.

 

Hmm… this is where I’m probably supposed to crash this site with photos, but I will resist the urge to that, even if it’s just for this one time.

When I told you guys that I am a writer, you probably didn’t realize that I had become a book owner too… yep that’s right, I’m an author. I also I’m an amazing violinist and vocalist with a romantic touch (smiles). I am a content writer (I think that’s pretty obvious don’t you think? I mean, I have a blog don’t I?).

Above all these amazing things that I am, I am a Christ Lover. Yes, not just a Christian, but a Christ Lover. Maybe one of these days when I get to know you more, I would tell you how that notion came to be, but for now, let it suffice to say that three main things form my identity and hence have stolen into my introduction and presentation of myself. This is how I introduce myself to people…
