DRY MY TEARS MAMA
Dry My Tears Mama!
The world is cruel oh mama!
They treat the young with much disdain!
Imagine John as young as me
Going forth to break the wood
And coming back to get no food.
Imagine me as frail as Eve
Forced to sleep with dear old Steve.
Does this not mean aught to thee?
Does this not make thy heart to grieve?
I thought you said that we were gifts,
That we were the sweet redress from God?
But why treat ye us like this?
Dry my tears Mama, please dry my tears!
The torture and pain is hard to bear, dry my tears!
I’m only ten and all my back harbors the prison-like scars, dry my tears!
Eve is 12 and her true virtue Old Steve have broken, dry her tears.
John is 12 and now a man with a family to feed, please dry his tears!
God said we are gifts, so let us brighten your lives,
Don’t force us to detest life, please dry our tears!
The road ahead is still too long,
So let our path with love be marked, Dry our tears!!!
The days are filled with woes of labour,
At night we do a favour, and condescend to do the vile, PLEASE DRY OUR TEARS!
James is 14 and has a child, born to him by one miss brown,
And all because he’s fine and strong, she forced a child beget a child!
PLEASE DRY HIS TEARS!!!
Rose is just at two of age, and doth now know Miss Joy’s rage;
For when you’re not at home mama, she puts sweet Rose in a cage.
Please Dry Our Tears!
Let Life and Health repair thy heart and flow from us to you!
Give us the chance to wipe your tears
And trade the tears with Joy for you!
Let us fulfil our purpose mum, and help to dry your tears!!!
