Why!! Why?...Episode 2
I paid them no attention at all. I had this one friend though; he would always tell me not to worry that I'll be surprised how those financial problems will all disappear in one day. We would sit, have our lunch, and gist about the wonders of he King we served. This was our everyday routine and we really enjoyed doing it.
Three days before my boy was to write his Jamb, my wife went into labour and my friend helped me take her to the hospital. I went to work that day bit I couldn't focus, I couldn't hide my frustration anymore... It was all over my face like the map of Africa. My other three kids were to start their own exams too and very soon.... Chai!!! Where do I get the funds to clear all this bills? I had told my eldest son that he might have to forfeit his exams and probably write it next year. Fortunately, I had to present the account reports that day and my boss was not available which means I had to present it to the King himself!
As I entered his presence, I wasn't trembling with fear as I imagined, my problems weighed heavy on me. After the presentation, I made for the door, but He stopped me.

My heart skipped three beats and then stopped as I rotated round my axis to face Him. Then His face lit up with a smile that flushed my fears down the drain. Then He asked: "My dear you've always worked for me with a smile on your face; what's wrong today? Where has that smile gone?"
His voice was soothing but compelling; soft and calm but striking and equally unwavering. I told him my plight and before I was done talking, I noticed a tear on his eye and then He said with weepy eyes "you should have come to me sooner my dear... Okay I will lend you this money and then you can pay me back in installments... Can you do that?" I didn't even wait to consider the offer, I just jumped up for Joy not stopping to consider how I would pay the money back. I was just excited that my boys will write there exams and that my wife and new born child can come home. I fell to my knees and said: "I promise to pay it back in 6 months Sir, if not sir do with me as you see fit"
With joy, I ran home and gave my people the good news!! I had more than enough to care of my problems.... I was finally FREE!!!!!
But something unexplainable happened to me without my knowledge or recognition of it. My service started to decline, I started to avoid my friend, as our routine became boring to me and I was hanging with the other guys and each time I went out with them, my love for the king went down by 2%. My wife and sons were busy enjoying the wealth and didn't even bother to question my actions at all.
